ECCC Postponed, Funko Announces Virtual Comic-Con This Week
Unfortuntly, due to the on going outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), Reedpop has announced the postponement of ECCC. The plan is to have the Con in the summer, however no dates have been announced. Reedpop, the company behind many of the big conventions around the country, will be refunding all tickets for the event, as well as all the pre-purchased appearance tickets.
You might be asking, what does this mean for the Funko exclusives?! Well, Funko has announced that they will treat this week like a Virtual Comic-Con, with them releasing all of their con exclusives on Friday at Shop.Funko.com. There is no way of guaranteeing that you will receive shared stickers or the ECCC sticker. If you had a lottery spot for the Con, you should look in your email boxes for an email from Reedpop on pre-release instructions. Retailers will still release their shared exclusives. Some are releasing on Thursday, some on Friday. Follow our Instagram & Facebook pages for up to the minute updates on their releases.
While we are sure there is some disappointment over this, the greater Seattle area has been the hardest hit area in the country by COVID-19, and trying to be overly cautious here can help.
Here is Funko’s release on what will be going down this week:
